Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 13, 2026

LockShield ("we", "us", "our") operates a Discord bot hosting service using Pterodactyl and CtrlPanel infrastructure. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our services.

By using LockShield's services, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

Operating Name: LockShield
Jurisdiction: England, United Kingdom
Infrastructure Location: Germany (EU)

LockShield provides infrastructure for hosting Discord bots and related applications.

2. Our Role (Data Processor vs Data Controller)

For content hosted within user-created bots and applications, LockShield acts as a data processor.

This means:

  • You (the client) are responsible for the data your bot collects and processes.

  • We provide infrastructure only.

  • We do not control how your bot uses data.

For account-related information (such as panel accounts), LockShield acts as the data controller.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Email address

  • Username

  • Discord ID (if Discord authentication is used)

3.2 Technical & Usage Data

We may automatically collect:

  • IP addresses

  • Login timestamps

  • Resource usage (CPU, RAM, storage)

  • Server logs (console output, crash logs)

  • Panel activity logs

3.3 Bot Content

We do not actively access, monitor, or review:

  • Bot databases

  • Bot tokens (unless required for support)

  • Discord server content

  • Private messages

  • User-generated bot data

However, bot data is stored on infrastructure we manage and may be technically accessible for maintenance or legal compliance purposes.

4. Backups

LockShield does not directly create or manage automatic node-level backups of client data.

Users may create and manage their own backups through Pterodactyl panel functionality. Those backups are stored within the infrastructure and remain the responsibility of the user.

5. How We Use Information

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and maintain hosting services

  • Monitor infrastructure performance and security

  • Prevent abuse, fraud, or illegal activity

  • Respond to support requests

  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal data.

6. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR, we process data based on:

  • Contractual necessity – to provide hosting services

  • Legitimate interests – for security, abuse prevention, and service improvement

  • Legal obligation – where required by law

7. Data Retention

We retain:

  • Account data while your account remains active

  • Logs for security and diagnostic purposes (retention period may vary)

  • Technical usage data as necessary for infrastructure monitoring

If you delete your account, associated data will be removed within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.

8. International Data Transfers

Although LockShield operates from the United Kingdom, our infrastructure is located in Germany (European Union).

Data may therefore be processed within the EU. Both the UK and EU maintain high data protection standards under GDPR frameworks.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including:

  • Access controls

  • Authentication systems

  • Infrastructure-level security measures

  • Firewall and abuse protection systems

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Your Rights (UK & EU Users)

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Restrict processing

  • Object to certain processing

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Requests can be made by contacting us directly.

11. Children's Privacy

LockShield services are not intended for individuals under the age of 13.

By using our services, you confirm that you meet Discord's minimum age requirements.

12. Third-Party Services

We may rely on third-party providers for:

  • Infrastructure hosting

  • Panel software (Pterodactyl / CtrlPanel)

  • Network services

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services outside our direct control.

13. Law Enforcement & Legal Disclosure

We may disclose information if required to:

  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Respond to lawful requests from authorities

  • Protect our infrastructure from abuse or illegal activity

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
